At NVC, membership isn’t just access to events, it’s a strategic advantage. Whether you’re looking to expand your influence, grow your network, or amplify your voice, your membership puts you at the center of regional progress. Here’s how we’re delivering value that moves the needle:

Building the Roadmap for Northern Virginia’s Future

With $109 billion in federal contracting dollars flowing through our region annually — more than any other metro in the U.S. — and 16% of Virginia’s jobs tied to federal work, the stakes have never been higher.

To stay ahead, NVC has partnered with Accenture to create the NOVA Roadmap — a bold, data-driven blueprint spotlighting high-growth industries, uncovering barriers, and identifying untapped potential across Northern Virginia.

By early fall, we’ll deliver clear, actionable policy recommendations — driving forward economic diversification and long-term regional resilience.

Your Weekly Power Session, the Executive Member Forum (EMF)

Every Friday morning, NVC’s executive members are invited to a 30-minute virtual meet-up packed with insight, collaboration, and exclusive guest speakers. Your Voice, Amplified Where it Counts

Over the past few months, NVC has doubled down on advocacy, making sure your business interests are heard at the highest levels.

House Speaker Don Scott’s Emergency Committee

On April 8, NVC Board Chairman Mark Carrier, President of B.F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, addressed the Virginia House Speaker’s Emergency Committee on the Impacts of Federal Workforce and Funding Reductions.

Speaking for the entire NVC business community, Carrier outlined how federal downsizing is hitting the hospitality sector and what NVC is doing about it. “Federal policies, including the layoff of personnel, downsizing and elimination of departments and organizations, and shifts in grant funding, have a direct impact on demand for travel and hotel services,” Carrier stated.

MWCOG Board of Directors Meeting

A day later, at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) Board of Directors Meeting, Carrier brought attention to a critical stat: 70% of D.C.-area hospitality is federally driven.

“When the industry struggles, it signals broader economic challenges,” Carrier noted. He emphasized the need for coordinated and collaborative action to navigate this period of change effectively. “Frankly, at a level we have not always achieved in the past,” he added.

Through every conversation, every forum, every call to action, NVC is leading with solutions and forging partnerships to protect and grow our region’s economy.
