To get to know our membership department a little better, we asked the team to share their favorite parts of engaging with members and something members might not know about them. Here’s what they had to say:
Jared Sloane, VP of Membership
What’s your favorite part of engaging with members?
One of the things I enjoy most about working with our members is learning about their business and the ways they think. Business owners are so creative and savvy, and I always find that motivating.
What’s something members might not know about you?
I find it easy to empathize with our members because I’ve been in their shoes. I founded and ran a retail business with my family in Fort Worth, TX, and it’s grown to five locations over the past 15 years. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the challenges of operating, sustaining, and growing a business. So, when I’m talking to members, I can see the world through their eyes.
Fabiola Manzanarez, Member Eexperience Manager
What’s your favorite part of engaging with members?
My favorite part of engaging with members is how different each member is—from industry to industry everyone is unique. But everyone has one thing in mind, how they all come together at NVC to have open dialogues.
What’s something members might not know about you?
Something members might not know of is that I’m a huge traveler and have visited over 15 countries. I enjoy bringing a global perspective to how we approach business challenges.
Astrid Myers, Member Experience Manager
What’s your favorite part of engaging with members?
My favorite part of engaging with members is the opportunity to build meaningful connections and understand their unique perspectives regarding their specific industries.
What’s something members might not know about you?
Something members might not know about me is that I have a strong passion for continuous learning and for being of service in a professional and personal capacity.
Dan Ross, Sponsorship Sales Manager
What’s your favorite part of engaging with members?
I love learning about what makes our members tick. How can we help your business grow? How can we expand your reach and further engage you with the Greater Washington community? Learning about our members is what makes this job so wonderful. I never get tired of learning and engaging with them.
What’s something members might not know about you?
I am an avid comic book collector and have been for many years. I consider comics/comic books modern American mythology; it’s such a wonderful American tradition that continues to inspire generations of people.
