Last week, the Northern Virginia Business Political Action Committee (NOVABIZPAC), the political arm of NVC, conducted in-depth interviews with candidates in three of Virginia’s most competitive races. Over the course of two days, NOVABIZPAC Trustees interviewed a total of six candidates, five on the first day and one on the second.
After a rigorous review and discussion, NOVABIZPAC Trustees voted to endorse the following incumbents, each surpassing the required two-thirds threshold of Trustee support:
NVC maintains ongoing engagement with endorsed individuals after elections, helping to build relationships and support regional initiatives.
“These three candidates demonstrated their understanding of the challenges facing the Northern Virginia economy, as well as a strong commitment to supporting Virginia’s status as a Right to Work state,” said NVC President & CEO Julie Coons. “Their dedication to advancing the ambitious goals of NOVA Roadmap has earned them our endorsement. We thank them for their ongoing public service and look forward to continuing to work closely with them in their next terms.”
The NOVA Roadmap outlines a vision for a more competitive, affordable, and opportunity-rich economy through strategies that strengthen the workforce, enhance business competitiveness, and modernize regional infrastructure. The endorsed candidates share this commitment, particularly in advancing policies that:
- Protect Right-to-Work policies that sustain Virginia’s competitiveness,
- Foster business-friendly environments that drive innovation and investment, and
- Expand affordability and economic mobility for Northern Virginia families and employers.
“We’re always working to move Northern Virginia forward through the NOVA Roadmap, and these interviews were a key part of that effort,” said Clayton Medford, Senior Vice President of Government Relations. “We wanted to be sure our business community was heard and represented in a way that supports continued growth and opportunity across the region. Thank you to our NOVABIZPAC trustees and candidates for their thoughtful engagement.”
NOVABIZPAC Endorsement Process
NOVABIZPAC interviews are not held annually; trustees choose to conduct them in races deemed competitive by The Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP). These can include Governor, Attorney General, House and Senate seats, and chairs of Prince William, Loudoun, Arlington, and Fairfax counties.
NVC extends its appreciation to all candidates for their engagement and dedication to public service, and to the NOVABIZPAC Trustees for their time and continued commitment to keeping Northern Virginia’s business community a strong, strategic voice. Following the elections, NVC looks forward to maintaining engagement with endorsed individuals to build relationships and support regional initiatives.
